How to Take a Reiki Course

General Overall Course Specifications

My Philosophy

As a life-long and on-going student of various academic and/or other studies, I feel that it is my responsibility, as a student, to communicate with an instructor, and to follow through with the assignments, exercises and/or requirements of a course I am taking. Likewise, as an instructor, I feel it is my responsibility to provide the best educational experience and support that I can for a student. I do not, however, feel it is my responsibility to contact, prod and/or "birddog" a student to find out whether or not the student is performing his/her exercises, techniques and/or completing assignments pertaining to a course of study. Rather, I am here to facilitate and support a student in his/her progress. The student needs to communicate and work with me on a regular and consistant basis to accomplish this.

Section A. General Procedures

1. Before beginning any coursework, a prospective student will participate in an in-person, online and/or telephone interview with the instructor of a course.

2. The purpose of this interview is to: outline the requirements of the course, familiarize the prospective student and teacher with each other's background and perspective, and determine whether or not there is the potential for a successful student/teacher relationship.

3. Based on the outcome of the interview, the teacher will either accept or decline the prospective student's requested participation in a course.

Note: Each course is an individualized, or very small group experience, as I DO NOT cater to the mass market, pumping out lots of people, or simply teaching anyone who wants something. It is up to me, and/or those who participate with me, regarding those whom I chose to select to teach.

4. Whether the course is in the form of a local in-person or distance format, the coursework and expectations will be all basically the same.

Please note: If you are simply interested in paying your money, taking an attunement, getting a certificate, and not completing any requirements for that certificate, there are many other options available for you in internetland.

Section B. Certificate Requirements for all Courses/Levels

1. Readings are assigned from the manual for all courses/levels of instruction that are taken.

2. At the end of each assigned reading, or manual, there are required assignments, exercises, techniques, and/or assessments (tests) to be satisfactorily completed before any certification is awarded. Certification in any course/level is required before advancement to a more advanced course/level may be considered.

3. The KI (Iyashi-no Gendai-Ki Reiki-ho, Karuna Ki, et cetera) student is also required to keep a journal of his/her experiences for 21 days following the Rei-ju (attunement) for a specific level, along with comments and reflections on techniques completed with friends and/or family members who have participated in sessions, as well as the reactions of those receiving KI/energy from the student.

4. The student, for any course, is also required to keep in touch with his/her teacher, on a weekly basis, by e-mail, on-line, or telephone for student support, questions/comments, and/or instructor assessment/feedback. This regular contact is also important so the instructor is able to determine whether a student may be considered for advancement to the next course/level.

a. For Gendai-Ki Reiki-ho and/or Ki students this contact is for a 21 day period following either Rei-ju or attunement.

5. Upon satisfactory completion of requirements, assignments, exercises, and/or assessments (tests) for a specific level/course of study, the student may be issued a certificate for the level/course of study he/she has completed. A certification for any course/level does not guarantee advancement to a more advanced course/level. It simply means that the student has satisfactorily completed the requirements for that particular course/level.

6. Satisfactory completion of all assignments/requirements/exercises for certification of a level/course must be made three (3) months from the end of the course an individual has attended, or in the case of KI courses, from the time/date the Rei-ju (attunement) for a specific level was given.

a. In regards to advancement to Gokui Kaiden, Level IV, of Gendai-Ki Reiki-ho, there is a minimum of six (6) months, after the Shinpi-den certification date, for a student to be eligible for advancement to Gokui Kaiden. At that time, a student may apply for consideration for advancement to Gokui Kaiden, (The Highest Level). As previously mentioned, certification at  one level does not guarantee advancement to the next.

Section C. Currently Attuned Reiki Master/Teachers

1. Students with previous Reiki training as a Usui Reiki Master/Teacher by other Reiki Masters/Teachers and systems are accepted for coursework upon appropriate presentation of a copy of his/her certificate.

2. Failure to provide such varification and documentation automatically negates any participation in any given course of Ki study.

Section D. Tuition Options for Courses, Numerological Analysis

1. All local Ki courses, Numerological courses and/or analysis may be paid at the time and date of the course, and may be made in the form of cash, money order, postal money order, bank money order and/or certified bank cheque.

 - Personal checks are only accepted from those individuals I am familiar with -

2. All distance Ki courses, Numerological courses and analysis need to be paid prior to the date a course is to be taken, or numerological analysis prepared, and may be in the form of a postal money order, bank money order and/or certified bank cheque.

Note: Individuals currently experiencing economic and/or physical health-related situations may be eligible for tuition options based upon his/her individual circumstance.
