What is now known as Karuna Reiki, Karuna Ki and/or Tera Mai was formerly known as Sai Baba Reiki, which no longer exists, but was transformed into the Karuna Reiki of William Lee Rand and Karuna Ki of Vincent Paul Amador. There is, however, no affiliation between the Rand and Amador systems. Karuna is a Sanskrit word that is used in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Zen. It has been translated to mean any action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others, or as compassionate action. Ki alludes to energy. Therefore, Karuna Ki may be interpreted as compassionate energy. It was discovered by American Reiki Master, Patrick Zeigler much the same way that Mikao Usui discovered Reiki. Seichim is also spelled Sekhem or SKHM. Seichim was, however, the original name given to this system by Patrick Zeigler. It has since its origination gone through several transitions and changes. There is only one level to Seichim. Seichim is said to be the Living Light Energy, and is proported to be an ancient Egyptian healing art. It is also believed that Seichim and Reiki are from the same energetic family of origin. Seichim energy was discovered by Patrick Ziegler during his experience while in the pyramid, and from his Sufi empowerments, and seems to be a combination of both these energies with Reiki. To the Seichim: 7 Facet System was added an infinity meditation and 5 new symbols.
